From Bhadohi to a New York walk-up.
Long before New York, Solane grew up in Bhadohi, India, a town where rugs are part of everyday life. In her Parsi family's house, life happened on the floor. Meals, homework, long afternoons stretched out in the heat. The rugs were never decoration. They were where the family gathered.
When she moved to New York, her first apartment was small, loud and bare. The first thing she bought for it was a rug, and it changed the room more than anything else she owned. It was the moment a rented space started to feel like home.
Solanehaus began there, and it carries her name. Solane, for the woman who chooses every piece. Haus, for the home you build wherever you land.
Today she chooses every rug in the collection herself, from New York, looking for the same thing she found in that first one: a single piece that makes a room feel unmistakably yours.
